Earlier hits include “Kiss and Say Goodbye\,” “There’s No Me Without You\,” “It Feels So Good to Be Loved So Bad\,” not to mention their very first chart-topping single from 1965\, “I Wanna Be Your Everything.” \nFormed in the 60s as a doo wop-influenced R&B quintet out of Jersey City\, The Manhattans were a classic R&B vocal group who managed to achieve incredible career longevity by adapting their style to fit the ever-changing times. They reinvented themselves as smooth balladeers during the 70s\, falling in line with the sweet\, string-laden sound of contemporary soul. Finally\, in the 80s the group widened its appeal to mainstream pop audiences as well as their staple R&B crowds\, cementing their place in history with hits such as “Crazy” and “You Send Me.” \nLead singer\, Gerald Alston signed with Motown as a solo artist in 1988\, prompting The Manhattans to disband until 1993 when Alston and founding band member Winfred “Blue” Lovett reunited. They have been touring regularly ever since.
